Trail of Angels — Multimedia Experience Center Concept

Trail of Angels concept title over a portrait and a golden immersive landscape
Our task was to create an experience center dedicated to M.K. Čiurlionis, centred around a VR film called Trail of Angels inspired by his paintings. Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was a Lithuanian painter and composer of the turn of the 20th century whose work bridged Symbolism and Modernism. His art often depicted mystical landscapes and was deeply influenced by Lithuanian folklore and nature. Čiurlionis was a pioneer who blended visual art with musical structure creating what he called sonata paintings.

User experience map connecting research images with stages of the visitor journey
Visitor journey reveals the hidden aspects of Lithuanian heritage and Čiurlionis's work. Lithuania is the last place in Europe to switch from paganism to Christianity, where both intertwine to create a unique culture. Visitors start in a mystical forest where they roam until lost. They then find a hidden forest glade with the VR theatre, entering Čiurlionis's magical reality. After the transformational VR experience, a reflection space by a pond helps them gather their thoughts. The journey ends in a shop and café with Čiurlionis-inspired items and traditional Lithuanian cuisine reimagined by contemporary chefs.
